My opinion:
Hold was abducted and tortured by his dad's men. His dad told him that the next time he would find Hels he was going to kill her. Hold swore vengeance against his own father. He was hurt and angry about Hels' betrayal but he still loved her, she was part of his heart. Hold was angry with his friend Mikey who hide from him how he really felt, but after all the years they spent together as brothers he was ready to give him another chance. Shyla was visiting her aunt Diamond, then her car had a flat tire and Mike was there to save the day. He liked her from the first time he saw her, but she obviously didn't feel the same way for him. A month later when she was introduced to the rest MC she noticed Hold. Someone was trying to kill Hold, tried several times over the last few months but this time they almost succeeded. Good think Shyla was passing by when that happened and rescued him. They both tried to stay away from each other but somehow they ended up in the same place several times. Things got ugly quickly in the club and Shyla caught up in the middle because of Hold. Most of the brothers were tired of Ward's actions and wanted to end this once and for all. Thankfully the brotherhood was still existed in the MC so they took down the crazy leader and replaced him with the good one. Hold after all those years was a happy man with a woman who loved him for who he really was.
In this book we read about Hold's personal hell. Being the Prez's son was never easy for him and definately not since what Hels did. He was miserable, plus it was hard for him not knowing who he can trust anymore. Then he found Shyla, a young woman who could see through him. He loved him and accepted him for who he was. Hold needed to make excuses for what he did all his life but not to her.
Shyla was a calm woman with lots of hidden strength. She cared deeply for the people around her and she didn't want to hurt them. Hold was a tortured soul, all he ever wanted was to be a member of the MC because he believed in it. He was a good man and loved his brothers in addition to his father who loved power more. I was glad to see him find happiness.
