Captive (Captive #1) by Brighton Walsh

                                                                Description:
He’s the most dangerous man she’s ever met…and she’s falling in love with him.

Madison Frost is desperate to escape her life. Daughter of a prominent businessman, she has everything a girl could ask for. Except for a family who’s present in her life, and anyone to talk to outside the four walls of the prison she calls home. Madison dreams of one day leaving her life behind. She never thought being kidnapped is how it would happen.

Now she’s being held captive by a man who’s as frightening as he is sinfully gorgeous. Enormous, muscular, and filled with secrets, the man they call Ghost is an enigmatic mercenary, and Madison is trapped with him. She doesn’t know who hired him or why, but the more time she spends at his mercy, the more she realizes he’s not what he seems. Beneath his rough exterior lies an unexpected gentleness and a heart as broken and battered as her own.

But as Madison lets down her walls, Ghost holds tight to his, hiding secrets that could destroy everything.

                                        My opinion:

Madison was a twenty-year-old girl who hated her life. She was living in a mansion, with a father who was a workaholic and a mother who was alcoholic. She felt so alone. One day she was coming home early, she wanted to check up on her mother, but she never arrived. Madison had been kidnapped. She was so scared, thought that her life would end soon. Her captor was a very intimidated man, his name Ghost. After her initial shock had passed, she started planning a way to escape. She run but didn't go far. Ghost was impressed with this little stunt she pulled. A few days later they talked about their lives, did fun things together. There was an attraction between them and soon enough they explored it. They knew it wasn't going to work between them, but that didn't matter at the moment for neither of them. They had an amazing night, but after that everything was ruined. The guy who hired Ghost was after him, and Madison found out that the people who "cared" about her and she trusted lied to her. She couldn't live like that anymore, so she transferred in another college in a far away city. Gage let her go, he loved her and knew that she deserved better. But he was only a human, and sometimes what you should do is much different from what you end up doing.
A very unique kidnapping story. The two main characters were from different worlds, but one part of their lives was very similar. Madison was a very smart girl who was isolated, living a life full of self-loathing and lies. Then she met Cage who changed all of that. He was a very talented person, alpha male, who had a tough life. I liked that the story was concentrated in them and on how Maddie transformed from a scared little mouse to a confident woman.
