Eternal Night (Skeleton Key) by Marian Tee

                                                             Description:
Ever Carlisle’s life is but a monotonous existence, one that’s only enlivened by her daydreams about finding love like the one shared by Hades and Persephone.

However, everything changes when she stumbles upon a skeleton key in the town’s old library.

Suddenly, Ever finds herself thrown into a world where Greek myths and legends have come to life.

It’s a place where everything is strangely, terrifyingly beautiful…and its ruler Hades believes Ever is his prophesied queen.

                                                             My opinion:
Ever Carlisle was a maid in her aunt's house. She was miserable and her only amusement was the books she was reading especially the one with Hades and Persephone. Her aunt hated her and wasn't hiding it at all. One day on her way to the library Ever wished she could find her own Hades and go to the Underworld. A few minutes later her wish came true. Not only she fell into the Underworld but according to the prophesies she was the new queen as well. She was very surprised and confused by what was happening. Soon it was Ever's coronation as the new queen but the old one was determined to ruin it. Ever left him because of a misunderstanding but Hades had to bring her back at any cost, she was his queen after all.

Beautiful story. A great alteration of the well-known greek myth. I liked it a lot because it is the first time that I read about a greek god falling so much in love with a human, especially a god like Hades. Ever was my favourite character, so innocent happy and good to everyone. For the most time, we see Hade's only good and loving side with both Persephone and Ever. The twin's names were very smart chosen.

After my big hiatus of reading, this was the best book I could have chosen to start reading again.
