Review: Gabriel's Inferno by Sylvain Reynard

                              Description:
Enigmatic and sexy, Professor Gabriel Emerson is a well-respected Dante specialist by day, but by night he devotes himself to an uninhibited life of pleasure. He uses his notorious good looks and sophisticated charm to gratify his every whim, but is secretly tortured by his dark past and consumed by the profound belief that he is beyond all hope of redemption.

When the sweet and innocent Julia Mitchell enrolls as his graduate student, his attraction and mysterious connection to her not only jeopardizes his career, but sends him on a journey in which his past and his present collide.

                            My opinion:
Julia was studying to be a Dante specialist in the same university her best friend's brother, Gabriel, was teaching. Unfortunately, their first meeting was a disaster with Gabriel being extremely rude to her. Of course, her bad luck with him didn't stop there since he almost tossed her out of the school. Thankfully that changed soon. At first, he felt sorry for her because she lived in a bad place, later he started realizing how attractive and genuine she was.  One good thing that happened to her there was Paul, a very kind man who became her new friend. He made her smile a lot, took her out for dinner, they were spending time together. Gabriel didn't like seeing Paul with Julia but couldn't understand why he only knew that he had to stay away from her otherwise there would be many problems. Of course, he could no longer do that, now that he had found his Beatrice he wasn't going to let her go. A professor/student relationship was forbidden by the university so they had to keep it a secret from everyone. But for how long?

It's a very sweet and heartbroken story. It gets so intense and overwhelming in some parts of it. I truly loved this story, apart from the sweet romance story it also gives you life lessons. It has reference to great songs. It also made me want to learn Italian and to find out about the story of Dante Alighieri. I liked the end of the book because it doesn't leave you hanging.
Now about the two main characters: Gabriel Emerson is a sexy professor, a troubled man, gentle and generous lover with a dark past. Julia Mitchell is  a kind young lady, abused by her ex-boyfriend, with a bad childhood and the only thing she wanted was to feel loved.

My favorite scene of the book is : How Julia met Gabriel and their first evening/night in Paradise...

My favorite lines:

1)“You’re beautiful, Beatrice. Like a brown-eyed angel.”
2)“For the rest of my life, I’ll dream of hearing your voice breathe my name.”
 3)   The brown-eyed angel was weeping over the demon. The angel wept because she was grieved at the mere thought of someone hurting him.

4)  “I want to make love to you because I care about you. I want to worship your naked body with my own and learn all of your secrets. I want to please you, not for minutes, but for hours and even days. I want to see you arch your back in ecstasy and look into your eyes when I make you come.”

5)The dark angel whispered to his muse in Italian until she fell asleep in his arms, happier than she had ever been. She was loved.

6)“You need to become accustomed to my lips, Julia, because I intend to kiss you a lot.”
