I know you were hurting. I heard your cries. I wished over and over again that I could make it better, but as you stated I was too inexperienced; too good for someone as bad as you.
Perhaps you were right, but it didn’t matter because what I did know was that I loved the way you felt—loved the way you smelled. I loved how hard you got for me, and when you called me your Little Knight.
I can still remember that day in the park, when you held me close and kissed me deep. How you effortlessly made me cry your name on top of sweet smelling grass, making me feel like the only girl in the world. I loved how you looked at me, how you spoke to me.
I had been madly in love with you ever since I was twelve years old, but I shouldn’t have been.
Isabelle would have hated it—my best friend. I couldn’t afford to lose her. Besides, you two had already lost enough. Losing Mrs. Black was the epitome.

My opinion:
Chloe Knight was a lonely kid without any friends because her family moved alot. In the last place they moved the girls didn't like her. But that changed when a new family moved next to them, The Blacks. They had a girl her age, Isabelle, who had alot in common with her. They became friends instantly. At first she had a crush on Mr Black, but later it blossomed to something more. She tried to keep it hidden for years. After Izzy's mom passed away everything changed. Chloe was helping Theo and Izzy with everything. When he was drunk she was helping him. One night he couldn't resist her anymore. Neither of them knew where to go from there. She felt guilty sleeping with her best friend's dad. Soon Chloe was leaving for college, she was going to leave everything behind and start a new life. Three years later and still she couldn't forget Theo. When she saw him with another woman, she was hurt and jealous. Theo hadn't forget her either and this time he wanted to make things right. That's why he asked her to give him a chance to show her how good it could be between them. It was a huge risk they were willing to take, since they both had feelings for each other. Unfortunately it didn't went as they planned, they were good for a few days and then their doubts, guilts and crazy exs ruined everything. You can never keep a secret for a long time, and when it's being revealed one or more people can get hurt.
A nice story about a forbidden love. It's mostly about Chloe's and Theo's efforts to stay away from each other and later to make things work between them. The characters were ok. Chloe was a very lonely person who didn't make friends easily. She grew up alone since her parents were away most of the time. That was one reason that she loved spending time with the Blacks. Theo was a very good sexy man. He loved his family and his little Knight. He hadn't had an easy life either. He loved Chloe because she was the only person who could understand him. It has some good love scenes. I didn't like the ending, too sad for my taste.
