Grievous (Scarlet Scars #2) by J.M. Darhower

                                                              Description:
Once upon a time, there was a girl who stopped believing in fairy tales after her innocence was stolen.

Morgan Myers is tired. So damn tired. Most people either push her around or brush her off, and she's not putting up with it anymore. Determined to reclaim the life that had been stolen from her, she puts her trust in the last person she ever expected to: the notorious they call Scar. Morgan sees a side of him that few people seem to know—the man, not the myth. Lorenzo. And what she sees, she likes, a lot more than she thought she would.

But fairy tales aren't real, as life likes to remind her. Some dragons, you just can't slay, no matter how hard you fight them. And when hers comes back around, breathing fire, she's forced to face some unimaginable horrors. But there's a white knight in combat boots out there that isn't afraid of monsters.

You see, it's impossible to be afraid of something you see every day in the mirror.

                                                          My opinion:
Lorenzo started looking for information about Kassian. His "associates" knew nothing about him so he decided to speak to a local dirtbag. Morgan tried to help by finding some evidence but her plan didn't go well. She always managed to get into trouble, thankfully for her, Lorenzo saved her for one more time. Kassian was getting impatient and started making threats, a few days later he made actions as well. He took her away and locked her in a basement trying to break her for the final time. Lorenzo was fuming, not only the Russian took Scarlet but he did it with the help of one of his own people. Now he had to find a way to take her back without blowing all of them up. It wasn't easy but they did it, they were free to start their life again.

I loved it!!! It brought out so many emotions. I'm glad it doesn't stick to only one genre, it has elements of romance, suspense, dark novel, horror, action, humor. The characters were entertaining as usual with their own unique way. It doesn't have as many erotic scenes as the first but it has many abusive scenes. One thing that I would change would be Kassian's death, I'd like it best if he had a slow painful death. The last few chapters were my favourite. The three of them make a weird happy family.
