When my eyes are closed, the monster can’t ever see me.
When I sing a song in my head, the monster can’t ever hear me.
When I pretend my bedroom is a playground where I play hide and seek, the monster can’t ever find me.
The darkness should frighten me.
I should worry I’ll find more monsters…monsters scarier than him.
But I’m not afraid.
It’s safe here.
When I’m inside of my head…
He. Can’t. Ever. Touch. Me.
My opinion:
Kady was a twenty-nine-year-old broken girl, a recluse. She had been through a hell when she was a kid that left her with a lot mentally issues. Thankfully she had a few people who still cared about her. Her escape from the world was her music, it could silence the roars she hated, she loved to live in the whispers. Twelve years ago she had broken up with her boyfriend Yeo, but he still loved her and now that he had an education and a job he could provide and help her like he wanted to. His family didn't like her at all, considered her as a burden, but Yeo was going to change that. It wasn't easy but with the help of his family and friend's he did it. He saved Kady from this nightmare and they had their happy ending.
It is mindblowing. I'm at loss of words for this book. It started so simply and romantic, I mean it had some crazy parts but still, it was so nice. And then BOOM there comes the dark twisted part, the one that will gut you and make you cry your eyes out. There's so much agony, fight, terror but most of all there's an unconditional love. There is not an ounce of normality on this book which is why is so unique and it makes it stand out so much. I'll never forget this story, I am sure of it...
