Sixteen-year-old Brooke Pierce doesn’t need her mom to tell her all boys are trouble. After watching her dad break up the family for a woman half his age, dating is the last thing on her mind.
On the first day at a new high school, Brooke meets Luke, the school flirt with a reputation for heartbreak. He’s interested. She’s not. That only makes him chase her more. After a shocking revelation from her dad, Brooke and Luke form an unexpected bond, complete with crazy rules to keep them safely in the friend zone. Problem is, that’s the worst place to be when you’re falling in love.
“I’ve been nothing but rude to you. Most guys would take the hint.”
That trademark grin spread across his face again. “My daddy didn’t raise no quitter. I like a challenge.”
My opinion:
Brooke had recently moved with her mother to a new place and school. She hated that new change of her life. At her first day there she made a new friend and she also caught the eye of two guys, Luke and Chris. From the very first moment, she was rude to both of them but they weren't giving up on her, which was driving her crazy. When Luke found out about Brooke's problems he changed his approach towards her. They became good friends even though both of them were attracted to each other. Brooke could only handle a friendship right now and Luke was willing to be that, for now at least.
It's a very cute high school romance. It has some very funny scenes and other more dramatic. When three of the main characters are together is so much fun since all of them have a crazy side. The whole story is evolved around Brooke, the different kinds of relationships that are being mentioned in this story show how they affect her current and probably her future life. It might be short but it's definitely enjoyable. My only problem was that it kinda stopped abruptly. Other than that I find it quite good so I will rate it with 3,5 stars.
