Review: Missing Piece by Emma Snow

                                                                   Description:
It's been ten years since Martha Coleman was sexually assaulted by the man who was supposed to care for her, the man who became known as the multiple murdering Gamesman, the man who died in the inferno when the Beeches Care Home burned down.

It's been ten years but the memories of months of sickening abuse never faded. Martha has tried to move on, finding peace through work at Helmsley Castle. But as she does her best to forget the past, she receives a message that suggests not only is the killer still alive, he's coming for her.

As a storm begins to build around Martha, she finds an unlikely ally in Ben Robertson, loner and gruff heir of the castle, a man she refuses to fall for. Last time she was close to someone, it cost them their life and nearly destroyed her. She can't let that happen again.

But does she have a choice as Ben and her continue to grow closer? And what will happen when the Gamesman finally comes back for his missing piece?

                                                                My opinion:
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review

Samuel Lyons had abused five girls at Beeches Care Home, three of them had died in a fire, Lisa and Martha were the only ones that survived. Everyone thought that Sam had died with the girls, but he was alive and ten years later he came back to finish what he started. The last five years Martha was working at a castle, it was the only place that felt like a home to her, plus she had a very kind boss. When her boss had an accident she had to call his son. Even though Ben didn't talk with his dad he decided to come. Over the next few days, Martha and Ben were growing closer. Ben had found out about her past and the possible danger she was in and he was trying to help. The day for the sacrifice was close so Sam was setting his little plan in motion, he finally had everything he needed. He only had to trick Martha to get to the right place. Would Ben be able to save her or he would be tricked like the rest of them...

It's an intense psychological/romantic thriller. The storyline is pretty straight forward, it gives you clues and then there is a detail description of what had happened. It tries to throw you off a few times in a very clever way that makes you doubt what you have read so far. There are a few disturbing scenes that gave me chills. There are many characters, each one has its own story and at the end, all of them connect. I don't get to read this kind of books often, so I'm glad that I read this one, it was amazing. I will rate it with 5 stars because it left me satisfied without unanswered questions.
