Review: Mute (Dragon Runners #1) by M.L. Nystrom

                                                                Description:

“HE LOVES LONG, LOVES HARD, BUT HE DOESN’T LOVE EASY.”

Katrina Vega is set on one thing: finishing college. She’s determined not to let anything or anyone distract her, especially not hot brooding bikers. On her mission to stay focused, she doesn’t expect to be pulled into the fold of a motorcycle club, let alone into the arms of Alec "Mute" Stillwater.

Unable to keep her guard up, Katrina soon discovers that beneath the hard and rough exterior of a family she’s grown to care for, there’s also loyalty and passion she’s envious of. But falling for the club’s enforcer will not only threaten her plans but quite possibly her life.

                                                                      My opinion:

Katrina grew up as an orphan with no money, she worked hard and got into nursing school. Lately, she had found a bartending job so she could pay her tuition and it worked well with her daily schedule. River’s Edge Bar was owned by the local MC, the Dragon Runners. From the first night there she felt at ease, she loved the people there, they were like a family. She was a tough girl so the troubles in the bar didn't faze her. One of the club members made an impression on her, Mute the sergeant at arms of the MC. He seemed very intimidating but made her feel safe. There were times when she thought she was making progress with him but then he was turning into his usual growling and scowling habits. She was frustrated and hurt by his actions but also a bit thankful that he cared about her. The night her car broke down something changed between them, it seemed like Mute's walls were slowly crumbling down. The huge change happened when the club was attacked. They couldn't pretend anymore. Katrina finally had a family and Mute a woman who truly loved him.

It's a very good MC romance. The romantic part prevails in this story, the action is very limited. Like most of the MC stories, family, brotherhood and the respect towards the club women were very important topics and it showed throughout the story. I liked the storyline and the intensity of the characters and their background stories.  It started nice and ended wonderfully with no much drama. One thing that I didn't like was that it has Kat's POV but Mute's was described from a third person pov. I understand why it's written this way but to say the truth I don't really appreciate it. Other than that I liked the story a lot and I will rate it with 4 stars.
