Scarlett Hawke needed a husband to settle a deal for her business. Her brother sent her one of his friends as a bodyguard until the threat towards their family would be eliminated. James managed to combine both roles so he could protect Scarlett. The chemistry between them was pretty obvious from the beginning. In the few days they spent on the island they fell in love and fought hard for their lives. The marriage was supposed to end but their near-death experience showed them that life was too short to live without the only person who truly understands you.
For a short story, it was incredible. Romance and action are equal parts of the storyline. It also has suspense and a little drama. There are a couple intimate scenes. In this one, we get to know the characters more and we have a few information about their past. I liked the end and how Scarlett stand up to her family and when they were in the safe house. I've read all three books of this series and I have to say this couple is my favorite and so is their story. I totally recommend this and I will rate it with 4 stars.
