He intends to claim her for his own if she’ll stop trying to kill him long enough.

Morgan MacAlister is the pirate governor of the new colony, the Pirate’s Hideaway, and his gut instincts tell him that trouble is coming to his island paradise. When the mighty Aphrodite sails into his harbor carrying a set of twin sisters, the gorgeous redheaded sprite of the duo sets his senses on fire.

It’s a hot time on the high seas when the two arrogant men figure out that the twins have the power to rock their worlds. But the girl’s haughty attitude and lack of respect may well earn them several trips over a knee before it’s all said and done.

Frankie faced off with Jacques, deadly determined. She was totally unprepared for the jolt that raced through her body, a sizzling flash of awareness of him as a man. Was it raw physical attraction? Instant lust? Her breath came in ragged gasps, and she fought the sensation of melting in that hot dark gaze.

“Arm yourself,” she commanded belligerently.

Jacques stood at rest, his fingers curled around his sword. “To what purpose, ma petite? If you kill me, you won’t have the answers you seek. If I kill you, then I won’t have the pleasure of your sweet lips. They do so intrigue me.” He gave her a mocking grin and bowed slightly.

“It’s a pleasure you will never have,” bit out Frankie, further confused at her traitorous body’s reaction to this…pirate! How could she suddenly yearn to feel his sculpted body against hers, those lean fingers that curve the top of his sword, curve around her breast? His low sensual voice danced across her flesh and seeped into her pores, leaving her aching in places that had never throbbed before.

“Come to my ship tonight, ma petite. Have supper with me…and we will talk.”

“What makes you think I’d go to your ship alone?” replied Frankie scornfully.

“Oh, but you will, ma petite. Because I think you’ll want to hear what I have to say.”

“That remains to be seen,” she replied harshly, reluctantly sheathing her sword. There was nothing more to be gained with frontal confrontation, not with Macalister so bent on frustrating her and LaSalle refusing to arm himself.

“Be sure to wear a dress. I don’t like women in trousers,” he ordered softly.

“I don’t care what you like, I’ll dress as I please.” Frankie turned her back on him and walked away, her tempestuous emotions simmering below the surface.

Jacques gazed after her, tamping down the urge to stop her and teach her some respect. The cape billowed out behind her in the wind, and he could see her bottom outlined in the men’s trousers, briskly swaying from side to side. How he would love to strip those trousers off and apply his hand to those saucy cheeks before…. Shaking his head, he pushed the errant thoughts aside.
