Review: Cowboy (Shadow-Keepers #3) by Jas T. Ward

                                                             Description:
Welcome Back to The Grid

Jess William Bailey has a history of being a very bad man. But that was the past—now he’s the most brutal of the bad-asses as leader of the Wires—the toughest and deadliest warriors on The Grid. He makes no excuses, feels no guilt for what he has to do and keeps both at bay with women, drink and violence. But his time is quickly running out and Jess has a solitary goal to make sure he leaves at least one good thing behind—his daughter, Sophia. A child that has been raised by the woman he still loves, Emma and the man that used to be the former dark-side of his split personality, Reno Sundown.
The last thing Jess has time for with his collapsing time frame is the beautiful, tough San Fran police detective, Beth Daniels getting in his way.

Beth has always been the one to handle everything that came her family’s way and all she has left is her mother who isn’t able to take life’s hard hits. Beth has worked obsessively in the police department to become one of the toughest detectives with a high crime solution rate. But there’s a serial killer in San Francisco and the city’s women are the targets for the cold-hearted murders. She thought she found the psycho doing the deed. But Jess William Bailey is a whole different brand of killer—one she’s told to stay away from. Which she would be glad to do—if somehow she could.

The Cowboy is totally country.
The Cop is completely rock-n-roll.
Can their two very different beats combine to form a heartbeat of a lasting kind?
And can it survive when Hell wants to kill the song?

                                                         My opinion:
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review

Past:
William Jess Bailey had a rough life, he was beaten and alone since the day he was born but that changed at the age of seven when Sundown joined
his mind. Their life had gotten better at the age of eight because of Madam Prissy. She took him in and turned that scrawny boy into a fine young
man. His desire of being a real man along with his dark side led him to be an outlaw. He felt that his new life suited him until he met the
beautiful Meg. For the first time in his life he wished for the good life but unfortunately for him, his past caught up to him and he ended up in
Hell. There he was found by Bounce and he became the badass Cowboy Breaker.

Present: Since Jess came back to San Fransisco he didn't feel well and his situation was getting worse lately. Hanh told him that because of the spliting he was dying. With only three months to live Cowboy tried to shorten his life out so everyone could have good memories of him. What he
didn't expect was to meet with the feisty Detective Daniels. In such a short time they got under each other's skin. With the help of the Grid, she
tried to save him but he put his selfishness aside and sacrificed himself. Reno couldn't lose his brother again and made a reckless deal with the
Devil.

Cowboy is the third book of the Shadow Keepers series. It's a mix of a western romance and supernatural.  This one is solely focused on
Jess' early and romantic life. There isn't much supernatural action but there were human murders and some mystery. It's the first character that

we get to know him from the day he was born till the present time. It has more hot x-rated scenes than the previous books. Well written as always with a good plot and great characters. I enjoyed reading it, and i will rate it with 4 stars.

My favorite lines:
1)Don’t you do it. She’ll laugh at us and throw us out. We got it good here. You want to bump uglies, we got plenty to bump with. But not here...
don’t fuck the hand that feeds us

2)What the hell are you doing? You wooing a woman we won’t even be here to see in weeks? Stick with whores—no angry fathers with shotguns. Jess?
Outlaw? Are you ignoring me? Again!?

3)Jesus, how did he walk with a tripod in those Levi’s? Were all cowboys three-legged?

4)“Don’t be scared. It just wants to say howdy, darlin.”

5)“I’m the most confused Tweety Bird, ever.”
