Description:
He’s a charming bad boy count about to lose his fortune if he doesn’t marry. And the bride just took off on his wedding day.
Matteo Korbel, the Count of Golchin, proposed a business marriage to save his fortune, figuring his girlfriend was good enough to get the job done. But on the wedding day, she takes off, and Matteo is forced to ask the chef’s daughter to step in as a replacement bride.
Sheena's only thinks of Matteo as a childhood friend. So when she dresses up as a veiled bride, it’s only to tell him his bride left. She never expected him to ask her to be his wife, and never would have anticipated she’d be foolish enough to say yes. Now it’s not just his fortune on the line, but also her heart.
Neither of them expected passion or growing attraction with a near stranger. Now they’re married and still barely know each other as they try to navigate rough waters, ex-boyfriends, old desires, bad habits, and worse assumptions.
My opinion:
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review
Matteo Korbel, the Count of Golchin, was going to marry Patrice to save his fortune. On their wedding day, she disappeared leaving Sheena Marceau, the wedding planner, to fix the mess she created. Because of their past, during boarding school, she felt the need to help him, so when he asked her to marry him she accepted. When they went to Avce she took her role as a Countess with easiness. Everyone loved her and respected her, including Matteo. Their chemistry and friendship were a good groundwork for their marriage. Even when a man from her past came to claim her their love was strong enough to keep them together.
Forbidden Count is the 8th book of the Princes of Avce series. It's a sweet romance with a royal historical vibe. This one is about Matteo who is a Count and Sheena, a wealthy girl that held no title. It describes the quick change between them, (from "friends" to a married couple) their past and how well she acclimated in her new life. We see most of the previous characters and we get a big surprise towards the end. It's an easy fun read without much drama. It's from my favorite books from this series and I will rate it with 4.5 stars.
