Review: Kickin' It (Red Card #2) by Rachel Van Dyken

                                                                  Description:
Successful, high-profile sports agent Matt Kingston thinks he can handle anything. Then soccer player Parker Speedman shows up at his door. She is young and gorgeous, has natural talent, and is looking for a team. She’s also a hothead with a punchy past who floored her last coach on live TV. Despite his misgivings, Matt agrees to be both her agent and her coach. Professional common sense says she’s off-limits. But what can he say about the raw attraction between them?

Parker plays soccer with her heart and soul. But after the events of the last year, she’s shaken. She’s already seen what a powerful man can do to a female athlete’s career. And her beloved dream is in the hands of a sexy, gorgeous man with the uncanny ability to slip past her defenses…and into her heart.

Now Matt and Parker are about to learn that when it comes to love, the only way to win is by breaking every rule they know. And by playing nice. Real nice.

                                                                 My opinion:
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review
Matt Kingston was one of the best sports agents. His sister Willow was coming to work with him over the summer and along with her was coming her best friend Parker Speedman. She was a soccer player who needed a manager in order to get signed in a team. Her last hope was Matt and even though they had a bad start he agreed on representing and training her. Despite all the attraction and the sexual tension, there was between them, their practices were going extremely well. Soon
Parker had offerings from various teams. All this interest brought some unwanted attention by a man from Parker's past.  It was time for her to face her fears and move on, thankfully for her she wasn't alone in this. It was the first time in her life that Parker had people who stood by her side and a man who loved and admired her.

Kickin' it is a sports game romance about an agent and his newly signed client. It's fun, sexy, angsty and a little dramatic. The plot is captivating with a few secrets and suspense. It's well written and it balances out the emotional part with the funny one. The characters are great in this book as well and their stories are quite surprising. Also, it contains a very important social message. My favorite parts were the whistle moments and the scene between Jagger and Matt. It can be read as a standalone but I would suggest reading the first as well for better understanding the characters. I highly recommend this and I will rate it with 4.5 stars.
