Review: Raven's Game (Orb of Oriste 0.5) by Kerry Adrienne

                                                                    Description:
When desperation is a way of life, a single chance to change your fate can be irresistible...

Raven is not a very good fairy.
In fact, in Lorkhit Ka, she's well known as the fairy who can't.
In a word where magic wanes as dragons terrorize the countryside, Raven works hard to help her family make ends meet. But solari isn't easy to come by and bills don't pay themselves. And she and her centaur boyfriend, Benton, are never going to move into their own place if she can't keep a job.

With creditors and collectors growing tired of excuses, Raven finds herself presented with an extraordinary opportunity. A high-stakes game with some of the most terrifying creatures in Oriste would allow her to prove herself and solve her money troubles.

Win, and no one will ever call her a failure again. Lose, and her enslavement will be absolute.

                                                      My opinion:
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review

Raven was a fairy that lived in Lorkhit Ka with her family. She desperately needed a job so she could live with her boyfriend Benton, a centaur who was working at province security. Currently, she was failing to keep a job for more than a few days, which affected her mood and decisions. One day an elf named Zelonga had found her and told her about a game of chance where she could earn wealth and power. She couldn't miss this life-changing opportunity and even though Ben tried to
prevent her from going she didn't listen. Soon both of them were in Cliffhold and signed to play. They had to win three tasks and they would go back home. Unfortunately for both of them, this game

was riskier than what Ben had imagined and the results weren't good for either of them.

Raven's Game is a supernatural story filled with mystery and twists. It's well written with a captivating plot. The detailing at the descriptions made the scenes appear so vivid. The characters were great, all of them so unique. This book was like a combination of every supernatural animation I have watched on tv. I'm usually not a fan of this genre but this got me hooked and I look forward to reading the rest of the books. I highly recommend this and I
will rate it with five stars.
