Review: Leashed by Zoe Dawson

Leashed by Zoe Dawson is the first book in the Going to the Dogs series.

Callie Lassiter owns Sit Happens, a dog training business, and shares her life with her Great Dane, Jack. She has a history of falling for bad boys, which explains why her neighbor immediately catches her attention. Owen McKay, the owner of Flash, a classy nightclub, is a well-known player with a bad-boy reputation.

When Callie and Owen cross paths while walking their dogs, there’s instant chemistry. Both know they should stay away, but fate has other plans. After Jack and Owen’s dog, Jill, spend some unsupervised time together, puppies are on the way. This unexpected twist forces Callie and Owen to spend more time together, making it harder and harder to resist their attraction. But can a notorious playboy truly commit to a woman who dreams of a white picket fence and a stable future?

This is a fun, engaging romance featuring a sporty heroine, a charming bad boy, and two lovable dogs. The story is well written and keeps your interest from start to finish. It has plenty of funny moments, a touch of spice, and a few emotional scenes woven in nicely. I especially loved Callie’s friendship with the other three women. They are all very different but fiercely loyal and protective of one another, always having each other’s backs.

Owen may appear to be a typical bad boy at first, but beneath the surface he’s more like a wounded dog in need of trust and care. The chemistry between Callie and Owen is undeniable and jumps right off the page. My favorite moments were the dog birth scene and the proposal, both of which were heartfelt and memorable.

Overall, this is a great read for romance lovers looking for humor, heart, and a happily-ever-after with a canine twist 🐾📖
