My name is Masie Kicklighter, and you’re never going to believe what our local vampire is up to this time. He honestly thinks he’ll get away with it, too.
Bless his undead heart.
Because this is still my town, and I’m not about to hand it over to a five-hundred-year-old vampire, just because he’s hotter than our Kicklighter whiskey.
Oh, and by the way, don’t drink the moonshine.
ARC Review
Vampires, Moonshine, and Southern Secrets by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff is the second book in the Masie Kicklighter series—and it’s just as chaotic, witty, and entertaining as you’d hope.
In this installment, Masie is absolutely furious with the five-hundred-year-old vampire, Montgomery Stark. After leading her to believe she’s a vampire and keeping a web of secrets from her, the truth finally comes crashing down. Determined to expose the vampires’ sinister plans, Masie sets out to warn humanity. The mission? Stop the vampires before they can carry out their deadly agenda. But taking down powerful, cunning vampires is anything but easy. The question is: can Masie succeed before everything spirals into complete chaos?
This book delivers a humorous paranormal romance packed with sharp banter, lighthearted moments, and a touch of suspense. It’s a classic clash—vampires versus humans—with the added spark of a centuries-old vampire going head-to-head with a feisty, unpredictable heroine.
Masie completely steals the show. She’s bold, hilarious, and full of creative (and very entertaining) cuss words that add so much personality to the story. The Southern charm and dialect bring an extra layer of fun, giving the book a unique, lively atmosphere. One of my favorite moments was her escape scene—it was both intense and satisfying.
With its mix of humor, romance, and a hint of danger (plus that mysterious moonshine recipe and underlying world-domination vibes), this book keeps you hooked from start to finish.
I can’t wait to see what happens next!
