Description:
A traitor’s daughter forced to be his replacement bride
The unwanted outcast of the Italian Trio, I’m leaving their betrothals and bloody sheets behind to be a singer… until I become the wrong man’s obsession.
Carlo Vicini, the future Don of New York, is engaged to my cousin when he hears my song and determines I will be his. He’s deviously charming and brutally sexy but a cold-hearted manipulator underneath. After I help my cousin run away, he puts his ring on my finger.
We’re like cats and dogs outside the bedroom and kerosene and matches in it. He’ll threaten, maim and kill to keep me and keep me safe. But an old hatred brings new dangers and one of us may pay the ultimate price.
Can I find a way to outmaneuver this mafia prince and break free? Or will I fall under his spell?

My opinion:
The Don’s Siren by Eileen North is the second book in the Vows Sworn in Blood series and follows the story of Francesca and Carlo Vicini.
After her father betrays the Trio to save himself, Francesca and her mother are cast out and forced to live as pariahs. Years later, Francesca catches the attention of Carlo Vicini. Although he is supposed to marry her cousin Sophia, Carlo chooses Francesca instead, binding her to him in a forced marriage meant to keep her safe.
Carlo wants her. Francesca hates him.
All Francesca wants is to reunite with her family and escape the life she never chose, but Carlo has no intention of letting her go. When the moment finally comes, will she run… or stay?
This mafia romance delivers on beloved tropes such as forced/arranged marriage, he falls first, and touch her and die. It blends danger, passion, and love with plenty of fun, banter-filled moments. While there are scenes involving mafia dealings, the focus remains firmly on the characters and their evolving relationship.
The plot is engaging and easy to follow, and the characters are genuinely likable. Francesca, or Frankie, is a sunshine character most of the time, while Carlo is fiercely protective and surprisingly tender toward his girls. One of my favorite moments was when the women came together and Frankie sang. It was warm, emotional, and unforgettable.
If you enjoy mafia romance with heart, chemistry, and strong characters, this book is definitely worth picking up.
