Description:
After a decades-long stint in prison, former serial killer Carol is looking to kick back and relax in her new retirement home...until a fellow resident drops dead and Carol has to prove she actually didn't do it this time....
Carol is delighted to be leaving her tiny prison cell behind to take her place in a luxury retirement home. She's hoping her past as a serial killer won't come to light so she can make a few friends and find some murder-free hobbies. But it's not long before a fellow resident—who happens to be a former police commissioner—drops dead, and Carol's true identity is leaked—making catching up over daily activities of bingo and baking rather awkward.
Just her luck, Carol soon realizes that the victim wasn't the only former law enforcement officer at Sheldon Oaks—it's filled to the brim with former cops, barristers, and government representatives, her newfound friends included. And everyone thinks Carol's guilt is a no-brainer, but she is ready to prove them dead wrong...without killing anyone, for once.

My opinion:
I'm Not the Only Murderer in My Retirement Home by Fergus Craig is a cozy mystery with a very unusual premise.
Carol Quinn has been convicted of seven murders. After thirty-five years in prison, she is finally released and moves into a retirement home. She begins to settle into her new life and even manages to make a few friends. However, when a murder occurs in the home, Carol quickly becomes the prime suspect. Once her past is revealed, even her new friends begin to doubt her.
Determined to prove her innocence, Carol sets out to find the real killer before she is sent back to prison.
The story features an entertaining cast of amateur sleuths, including senior citizens, a former detective, a former forensic pathologist, and even a former home secretary. Their different backgrounds add depth and humor to the investigation.
This is a very engaging mystery filled with suspense and twists. At first there is no clear motive or suspect, but as the story progresses more possibilities begin to appear. Instead of a single investigator, we get several characters trying to solve the crime, which makes the story even more interesting. The pacing maintains a sense of urgency without ever feeling rushed.
I really enjoyed reading this book. The only thing that didn't fully work for me was the ending. I understand the reasoning behind it, but it wasn't quite to my personal taste.
If you enjoy cozy mysteries featuring older sleuths and a clever, twisty plot, this book might be a great pick for you.
