Review: Secret Enemy by Victoria Pinder

Description:
Valentina Soliz knows that normal families don’t have tactical security grids, but for the House of Morgan, power is the only language spoken. Years ago, Valentina built a quiet life in an Italian village, a world away from the billionaire secrets of her father’s "lost years." But when a coordinated arson attack at a Star Island gala traps her in a corridor of fire, the past doesn't just haunt her, it tries to burn her alive .

William Morgan, a structural engineer who traded the family spotlight for blueprints and hard logic, is the only one who hears the mechanical shift in the HVAC system that saves Valentina’s life. As the "Pittsburgh bastard" of the Morgan empire, he knows exactly what it feels like to be an outsider. But when a physical breach of his home proves Valentina wasn't just caught in a fire, she was the target, William is determined to turn his sterile glass mansion into an impenetrable fortress.

As the danger intensifies, Valentina must navigate a world of social manipulation and a tactical mastermind’s revenge. In this forced proximity struggle for survival, she must choose: reclaim the independence she fought for or trust the man who calls himself a machine but treats her like his heart.

My opinion:

ARC Review

Secret Enemy by Victoria Pinder is the 20th book in the House of Morgan series.

This story follows William Morgan and Valentina Soliz, who are both connected to extremely powerful and wealthy families. Because of her family ties, Valentina becomes the target of a dangerous enemy and is nearly killed. Thankfully, William Morgan is nearby and saves her life. From that moment on, he vows to protect her at all costs.

Amid the chaos of tracking down the enemy and eliminating the threat, their attraction begins to grow. After several close-to-death encounters, they realize that what they feel for each other is far stronger than they first imagined.

This is a great romantic suspense novel filled with action and constant movement. The story features insta-attraction that quickly develops into love. The characters share similar upbringings, shaped by wealth, power, and strong family bonds, which adds depth to their connection.

The chase to uncover the enemy is what truly kept my interest, as it was well written and full of tension. My favorite moment happens toward the end, when the hero makes a bold and heroic move that ties everything together beautifully.

If you enjoy romantic suspense stories packed with action, danger, and romance, I highly recommend this one.
