Description:
There were two problems with being stuck in an elevator with Scott Lenox. First—he was entirely too controlled. Second—he knew exactly how to break it. Now we’re suspended between floors together, and pretending nothing is happening in this box is definitely not an option.
Remington Montague doesn’t miss details. As the incoming CFO of Wilder Horizons, she built her career on precision, control, and catching what everyone else overlooks. She came to this interview ready to prove she belongs.
She did not plan on getting trapped in an elevator with the company’s Director of IT.
Scott Lenox doesn’t believe in accidents. Systems fail for a reason. People crack under pressure. And when a high-stakes candidate steps into his building, he prefers to know exactly what she’s made of.
So he creates a problem.
One stalled elevator. No exits. Nowhere to look but each other.
The test should have been simple. It wasn’t.
Because Remington doesn’t panic. She doesn’t fold. And she definitely doesn’t behave the way his data says she should.
And Scott?
He’s no longer entirely sure he wants her to.

ARC Review
Locked With You by Kate Sweden is a sizzling short story from the Wilder Horizon series that packs plenty of heat into a quick read.
Remi Montague arrives at Wild Horizons ready to fight for the CFO position after the previous executive steps away. She is confident, prepared, and determined to prove she belongs there. But ten minutes before her interview, she ends up trapped in an elevator with Scott Lenox, the company’s Director of IT. Scott is instantly intrigued by her confidence and intelligence, and the tension between them sparks almost immediately.
What starts as a brief forced proximity moment quickly turns into something far more intense. Remi walks into the interview and completely impresses the team, landing both the job and the attention of one very controlling, irresistible man by the end of the day.
This story was unbelievably hot, even during the scenes without explicit content. Short, fast-paced, and straight to the point, it delivers a unique and steamy workplace romance filled with chemistry and sharp banter. The forced proximity trope blended perfectly with the workplace romantic comedy vibe. Remi and Scott were both strong-willed, confident characters who approached every conversation like a high-stakes negotiation, which made their chemistry even better.
My favorite moments were definitely the power-play scenes. There was something about their dynamic that made every interaction feel charged and addictive.
If you enjoy short, steamy workplace romances with intense chemistry, forced proximity, and confident characters, this one is worth picking up.
