Review: Beyond the Middle by L. Luisa

In a world of sinners and saints, she stopped pretending she could tell the difference.

After putting Vasilis Kastellianos behind bars, Nora is back in Boston, buried in bar exam prep, rebuilding the life she nearly lost—a life untouched by the men who almost destroyed her.

But monsters don’t stay buried.

Vasilis is locked away, but his reach isn’t. From inside his cell, he makes it clear that prison was never meant to hold him back.

When his threats close in, Zeno and Nick resurface, pulling Nora back into a world she swore she was done with.

This time, she doesn’t get a choice.

Dragged across the ocean and hidden away in a secluded safehouse, Nora is trapped with the man who already broke her once. And now there's nowhere left to run—from him, or from what she still feels.

Lines blur. Loyalties fracture. And the truth becomes impossible to ignore:

Some choices can’t be undone.
Some men can’t be saved.
And some loves don’t just ruin you—
They own you.

My opinion:

ARC Review

Beyond the Middle by L. Luisa is the second book in the Sinner or Saint series.

Nora thought that after sending Vasilis Kastellianos to prison, she would finally be free to live her life. Leaving Niko and Zeno behind, she returns to Boston to focus on her studies and career. Unfortunately, even from behind bars, Vasilis still has loyal followers willing to do his bidding, and soon they are sent after her. Niko and Zeno step in to protect Nora, each in their own way. But will they be able to eliminate Vasilis once and for all, or will they die trying?

This dark romantic suspense is packed with heat, danger, and action. The story is told through multiple points of view, which adds depth to both the characters and the unfolding events. I highly recommend reading the first book before starting this one to fully appreciate the relationships and ongoing storyline.

I really enjoyed the love triangle, as it added an extra layer of tension and emotion to the story. The main focus is the dangerous situation surrounding Nora and the intense attraction and love between her and Zeno. Niko felt more like a secondary character for much of the book, but he was incredibly sweet, and his scene near the end absolutely broke my heart.

I also loved Maeve. She's the kind of loyal, supportive friend everyone wishes they had in their life. The ending was perfection and wrapped up the story beautifully. My favorite moment was the surprise Zeno planned for Nora in the final chapters.

I highly recommend this book to fans of dark romance and romantic suspense.
