ARC Review
Everything vs. Max Creed by Matt Cost is the second book in The Modern-Day Chronicles of Max Creed.
Max Creed is like a modern-day Robin Hood and, along with his capable team, seeks justice for people who have been wronged by the ultra-wealthy. Their current case is about a couple who lost their daughter because of the social media app Everything. The team immediately starts looking into the app's owner, Alfred Prince. Soon, they realize that Prince will be a difficult opponent. There are plenty of rumors surrounding him, but very little evidence to prove any of them. Will the team be able to take on such a powerful man and his incredibly smart AI-powered app?
This suspense story had me hooked from the very first page. Even though it's the second book in the series, it can easily be read as a standalone. There are some scenes that may be uncomfortable for some readers, so keep that in mind.
The storyline is engaging, the pace is steady, and there's a surprise waiting toward the end. I liked that the main problem didn't just stay focused on the app but expanded into even bigger issues. I also enjoyed seeing the growing team work together like a well-oiled machine. There's a little bit of romance as well, which was a nice addition. My favorite part was the big, dangerous ending scene. It was exciting and wrapped up the story really well.
If you're a fan of suspense stories with lots of action, this one is definitely for you.
