Review: Succour by Tabatha Shipley

 Description:
Love doesn't follow the plan. It rewrites it.

Liz thought she had life figured steady job, safe future, no surprises.

Ben never planned to be anything but the charmer who doesn't settle down.

Love doesn't play fair. Distance, secrets, and timing test Liz and Ben in ways they never imagined. A lie can protect-but can it ever set you free?

My opinion:

ARC Review

Succour by Tabatha Shipley is the story of Ben Smith and Elizabeth Banks.

They first met in high school when Ben was part of a student exchange program and moved to Arizona for a year. Back then, they barely spoke. A few years later, while they were in college, Ben contacted Liz for help with an assignment, and from that moment on, they talked every day for six years.

During that time, Ben fell in love with her but never confessed his feelings because he was afraid of losing their friendship. When another man entered Liz’s life and seemed like the right person for her, Ben pushed her away in a harsh and painful way. Even though they both tried to move on and find happiness separately, neither of them could truly forget the other. Everything changes when Liz takes a huge risk that could alter their relationship forever.

This is a beautifully written story that shows how love is different for everyone and how sometimes you have to take risks to create the life you truly want. Told through a dual POV, the story begins as sweet and heartfelt before evolving into a far more emotional and turbulent romance filled with meaningful life lessons.

This is not a light and easy romance, but it is one that lingers with you long after you finish reading. My favorite part was seeing Liz take that big risk and fight for what she wanted.

I highly recommend this book.
