The Village Detectives and the Deadly Brew by Fiona Walker is the fourth book in The Village Detectives series.
The Village Detectives, Phoebe, Felix, Juno, and Mil, are back together to solve another mystery. Mil's friend, former football player Kevin Wyche, asks for their help after someone begins sabotaging his family's business. Juno is hesitant to get involved because of everything that happened just a month earlier, but she eventually agrees, and the team starts investigating. What begins as a little snooping soon turns into a full murder investigation. Now they must uncover who is targeting the Wyche family before it's too late.
This was another enjoyable cozy mystery with a fantastic cast of characters and a mystery that pulled me in from the very beginning. I loved the friendship between the four detectives and how naturally they worked together, especially Juno and Phoebe. The story has a steady pace, and I liked how the investigation unfolded piece by piece. There were plenty of suspects, all with believable motives, so I genuinely didn't guess the culprit until the reveal.
One of my favorite moments was seeing Juno spend time with Kati at her house. Their bonding scenes were absolutely adorable and added a sweet touch to the story. There's also a hint of romance woven throughout the mystery, which made the book even more enjoyable without taking away from the investigation.
Overall, this is a fun and engaging cozy crime filled with lovable characters, clever twists, and an intriguing mystery. If you enjoy cozy mysteries with a strong group of amateur sleuths, plenty of suspects, and a touch of romance, I definitely recommend picking this one up.
