Beg Me by Adriana Locke is the fifth book in the Play Me series.
Markie St. James wants nothing more than to beat her cheating ex at pickleball. The only problem? She doesn't have a partner. Then, out of nowhere, comes Gus, a little smartass who manages to play wingman for his dad, Jory Plath, and introduces them.
There is an instant spark between Markie and Jory, and soon they find themselves in a little arrangement. She will help Gus with math, and Jory will be her pickleball partner. Along the way, they end up in a fake-dating situation with a few benefits. It was supposed to be a simple summer arrangement while Jory was in Sugar Creek... if only they could keep their feelings in check.
This series never disappoints! The tropes include sports romance, small-town romance, brother's best friend, single dad, and fake dating. It's told in dual POV, and I really enjoyed the engaging plot, the banter, the spicy moments, and especially the family and friend dynamics.
The new characters were so much fun, and I loved getting to know another side of Markie. She was feisty, confident, and had absolutely no nonsense. Jory was caring and protective, but also charming. Gus was my favorite, though. That kid was a true charmer! 🥹
One of my favorite parts was their first meeting at the farmer's market. It was such a fun introduction to their dynamic and immediately made me curious to see where their relationship would go.
If you like small-town romance with great friend and family vibes, fake dating, a single dad, and plenty of banter, this one is definitely for you! 💕
