Risk Appetite by Amara Pardeshi is the first book in the London Bound series.
Amara is a risk analyst at Sterling Rowe. She's ambitious, logical, and someone who trusts numbers over instincts or emotions. Everything changes when she meets Lucas Scott, the Head Chef of Opus Blue, the crown jewel of restaurateur Hugo Vinther.
When Hugo seeks funding from Sterling Rowe to expand his restaurant to New York, the proposal lands on Amara's desk. As she spends more time with Lucas, the lines between business and personal feelings begin to blur. For the first time, Amara allows herself to follow her heart instead of relying solely on logic. But will that decision lead to success, or will she end up regretting it?

This was an interesting romance between two very different people. The plot is simple and straightforward, focusing on the business deal alongside the growing relationship between Amara and Lucas. I especially enjoyed the corporate discussions and business terminology throughout the story. It's something I don't often see in romance, and I found it surprisingly entertaining.
The supporting cast also added variety to the story. The romance developed fairly quickly, which made it feel different from the slow-burn romances I'm usually drawn to. Lucas is a quiet, dominant man whose actions speak louder than his words, while Amara comes across as almost robotic for much of the book, with small but meaningful moments of vulnerability that make her character more relatable.
My favorite part of the book was the final presentation. It was satisfying to see everything come together after all the planning and decision-making.
If you enjoy workplace romances with corporate settings, opposites attracting, and a romance that grows alongside an important business deal, I'd definitely recommend giving Risk Appetite a try.
