Review: Meet Cute Magic by Morgan Elizabeth

Description:

She's a witch who can’t fall in love without getting her heart broken. He holds a grudge like no other.

Bookstore owner Rosie Mayfield wants a love of her own, but it’s not meant to be––because of her family's curse. To break it, she conjures a ghost who will break her curse, but for a cost––she has to brew a potion to help him transition to the other side. The problem? There’s only one person who hates Rosie in all of Heartwood Hollow, and she needs his help to complete the required task.

Jack Haggerty, the ghost’s grandson, has lamented about Rosie for years––she’s a disaster and she’s forbidden from visiting his gaming shop. He doesn’t believe in ghosts, so he’s stunned when his beloved grandfather makes an appearance. While he loves his family and will do anything to help his grandpa, he fights against the chemistry brewing between him and Rosie until he can’t anymore. But he doesn’t know how to tell her he no longer wants to go through with the plan, and she won’t admit that she’s falling for him because they’re doomed from the start.

Meet Cute Magic by Morgan Elizabeth

Rosie Mayfield owns the bookstore Meet Cute Magic and has always been a hopeless romantic, dreaming of finding her perfect person. Unfortunately, her family's curse seems determined to keep true love out of reach. Tired of the heartbreak and bad luck, Rosie decides to confront the ghostly warlock responsible for cursing her family and convince him to lift it.

The warlock agrees, but only if Rosie helps him first. She has until Halloween to brew a potion for him, and in return he'll finally break the curse. The only problem? She has to work alongside his grandson, Jack Haggerty, the one person in Heartwood Hollow who can't stand her. Rosie is determined to make the partnership work, even if it means winning Jack over. As they spend more time together, their feelings begin to change. But Rosie struggles to let herself be vulnerable and can't shake the belief that the curse will ruin everything. Can she finally believe in love before it's too late?

This cozy small-town romance blends magic, humor, and heartfelt moments perfectly. Featuring enemies to lovers, grumpy x sunshine, and he falls first, it had me hooked from the very first page. I loved how the magical elements mixed with Rosie's emotional journey, and the family curse added just the right amount of mystery.

The mischievous cat and the trickster ghost stole so many scenes and made the story even more entertaining. Rosie and Jack had fantastic chemistry, and I especially loved the close relationship between Rosie and her sisters. One of my favorite moments was watching Rosie and Jack help each other achieve their dreams. It was incredibly sweet and made me love them even more as a couple.

If you're looking for a cozy romance filled with magic, lovable characters, plenty of chemistry, and a little spice, I definitely recommend picking this one up.
