Rocket and Marcy Big Adventures by Catherine Louise Mitchinson
Rocket and Marcy Big Adventures is a wonderful children’s book about facing fears, difficult situations, and learning about the importance of home and family.
The first story follows a little hedgehog named Rocket, who leaves home at night even though his mom told him not to. After getting lost while trying to find his way home, Rocket ends up in a human’s garden, where he finds himself in a situation that scares him.
The second story is about Marcy, a little brown field mouse who goes out to find food for her family. When she returns home and discovers that her family is gone, she decides to go out and look for them. It’s nighttime, and she encounters some trouble along the way.
Both little creatures find themselves on big adventures while being on their own, and through their experiences, they learn about safety, home, and family.
I liked how simply the stories are written, making them easy for young readers to understand and enjoy. The illustrations also add a lot to the reading experience and help bring the characters and their little worlds to life.
I especially liked that the book is short but still manages to create vivid worlds and meaningful adventures for its young characters.
I think young readers will love Rocket and Marcy’s adventures and the lessons they discover along the way. 🦔🐭📚
