Review: Just Her Holiday Type by Brisa Carleton

A heartbroken Christmas movie writer discovers a magical typewriter that creates her perfect leading man. But when reality starts writing a different script, she'll have to decide between the perfect man and the right one.

Every December, Plum Hayes writes the kind of cozy Christmas romances people curl up and watch. Too bad she stopped believing in holiday magic the night her own happily ever after fell apart.

With just two weeks until her screenplay deadline, Plum is sent to Pine Tree, a snow globe town where she discovers a magical typewriter that conjures her perfect leading man. Zach is everything she ever imagined.

The problem is Ethan.

The flannel-wearing owner of the antique shop downstairs is stubborn, practical, and nothing like the hero Plum would have written. But with Christmas Eve fast approaching, Plum must choose between the perfect man... and the right one.

ARC Review: Just Her Holiday Type by Brisa Carleton 🎄❤️

Plum Hayes was known as the queen of Christmas rom-coms. She wrote scripts about romantic holidays and happily-ever-afters, but this year she just couldn't do it. Not after her ex broke her belief in finding love.

Her agent decided to send her to Pine Tree to reconnect with her Christmas spirit and finish her script in two weeks. The problem? The small town wasn't as Christmassy as it used to be, so there wasn't much inspiration to be found.

Then her landlord, Ethan, gave her an old typewriter that once belonged to a romance novelist. Plum started typing her script, and everything was going well... until her main character came to life.

As she starts living out the script, something begins to feel off. Did she really want Mr. Perfect, or was the real deal right in front of her?

Just Her Holiday Type is a cozy holiday romantic comedy about believing in Christmas magic, second chances, and unexpected love. It was thoroughly entertaining, with lots of banter, restoring faith in love, and some really cute romantic moments.

I loved the characters. Plum and Ethan were on opposite sides of the love spectrum, even though neither of them currently believed in love. Ethan was the guy everyone trusted, always ready to help and used to doing everything on his own. Plum was sweet and trying to figure out her life, but deep down, she was still a romantic at heart.

I also really liked the small-town setting. It wasn't quite as Christmassy as you usually expect from this kind of story, but I actually liked that because the heart of the story wasn't really about creating Christmas magic. It was about restoring something that had been broken, including Plum's faith in love.

And my favorite part? Her grand gesture. ❤️ It was exactly the kind of romantic moment I wanted from this story.

If you love holiday rom-coms, small-town romance, Christmas magic, and stories about second chances, I highly recommend giving Just Her Holiday Type a try! 🎄✨
