Review: Take Me Home for Christmas by D. Allen

One week. One fake relationship. One family who really needs to mind their own business this Christmas.

Lila Bennett returns home for the holidays ready to prove she finally has her life together. Instead, she walks straight into chaos: her family still thinks she’s dating her ex—Miles Reed—and her brother has already invited him to stay for Christmas.

To save Miles from spending the holiday alone (and to stop her parents from spiraling), Lila agrees to fake date him for the week. Easy… until the mistletoe attacks, the family dog declares war on Miles, and they discover the guest room only has one bed.

As old feelings start slipping back in between gingerbread disasters and late-night confessions, Lila wonders if the breakup she never got over wasn’t the end after all. But when the truth—all of it—comes out on Christmas Eve, she’ll have to decide what (and who) she’s really fighting for.

A hilarious, heart-tugging holiday romcom about second chances, messy families, and the love you can’t fake.

My opinion:

ARC Review:

Take Me Home for Christmas by D. Allen 🎄

Lila and her boyfriend of nine years, Miles, broke up on Thanksgiving. For Christmas, she was going back to her parents' house to spend the holidays with her family. But since Miles would be all alone, her brother, who had been friends with him since college, invited him too.

The problem? Lila had to fake date Miles during the holidays so her parents would accept him being there. It was supposed to be easy, but of course, it wasn't. Between all the holiday chaos, mistletoe, and unexpected situations, Lila starts to question whether breaking up with Miles was really the right decision.

Were there still feelings between them? And was Miles finally ready to settle down?

This was such a fun holiday romantic comedy, with plenty of chaos, sweet moments, and a few much-needed wake-up calls. 🎄❤️

Tropes: Fake Dating • Ex-Boyfriend • One Bed

There were so many entertaining scenes, along with a few that were more sentimental. The moments when Lila's parents made Miles feel bad honestly broke my heart. But the rest of the story was so much fun, especially all the holiday traditions and the craziness surrounding the cooking.

My favorite parts were definitely the scenes with her brother wearing the ugly Christmas sweaters and all the pranks. 😂 I also loved when the truth finally came out and they all spent the last day together.

If you enjoy clean holiday romantic comedies, second-chance romance, fake dating, and a little Christmas chaos, this one is definitely worth adding to your holiday TBR! 🎄📚
