Three masked men have been hunting me through a dead shopping mall all night.
The weird part? Every time they catch me, they let me go.
I entered the Rot with my two besties, a crappy plan, and everything to lose. Survive the Hunt. Be the last woman standing. Win an irrevocable Favor powerful enough to save the little girl we love.
Simple.
Except for the three men in half-skull masks who seem to have made me their favorite prey.
One corners me in the dark, fixes the box cutter I tried to use on him, and tells me to run. One thinks my smart mouth is hilarious. And the third lets me cut him, then looks at me like I’ve just given him a present.
They could claim me anytime they want.
Instead, they chase me.
Catch me.
Let me go.
And every time, I’m a little less afraid of what’ll happen when they finally decide to keep me.
I came here to save a life, not lose my mind over three dangerous men with filthy intentions. But somewhere between running from them and running toward them, the rules changed.
Now I don’t just want to survive the Hunt.
I want my hunters.
And if I win?
I’m taking all three of them with me.
ARC Review
Hunt Me Hard by Charli Townes is the fifth book in The Rothwell Masked Hunt Series.
Maxi and her two friends decide to join The Hunt because they want to earn the Favor and save the life of a little girl. They are a bit too optimistic at first because they soon realize that things won't be as easy as they expected. Different teams of masked men are searching for the Runners, and Maxi and her friends find themselves in dangerous situations more than once. They try to fight back and survive, but things eventually take a turn. Will they get the chance to save Fin, and what happens when some of them are caught?
This is a why choose dark romance with lots of suspense and intense moments. Most of the story is told from Maxi's POV, but later on, we also get a few chapters from the three men's POVs. The story focuses mainly on The Hunt and the men pursuing Maxi, so there is plenty of action throughout the book.
There are quite a few intense scenes that might be difficult for some readers, so I would recommend checking the content warnings before starting if you prefer to avoid darker themes. The romance and spicy scenes are more limited than some readers might expect from this genre, but I still enjoyed them. My favorite part was when the truth finally came out, and certain characters got what they deserved!
Overall, this was an entertaining read with plenty of suspense and unexpected moments. If you enjoy why choose dark romance with an action-focused plot, dangerous situations, and masked characters, give this one a chance!
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
