Cartel (Cartel #1) by Lili St Germain

                                                                      Description:
How much is a life worth?Mariana Rodriguez is the eldest daughter of a Colombian drug lord. Growing up in Villanueva, Colombia, she has never wanted for anything. Private schools, a lavish lifestyle, and the safety of the Cartel that her father works for.
At nineteen, she's got her entire life mapped out, and what a good life it's going to be: graduate from college, move to America, and finally be free from the stifling grip of the Cartel.
Only, her father messes up. A shipment of cocaine - a very large, very valuable shipment - is seized by the authorities whilst under his care and he becomes liable for the debt. Half a million dollars' worth of cocaine.
Half a million dollars he does not have.
But he has a daughter, a very smart one, a daughter who would give up her very existence and offer herself as payment for her father's sins, to ensure her family survives.
But falling in love with the man who owned her isn't part of the plan ...

                                                                      My opinion:
Marianna's father,Marco, lost a big amount of drugs which belonged to a big cartel. Emilio the drug lord was angry and he decided that Marco had to pay, by killing his family. Marianna loved her family very much that's why she offered herself to him so he can spare their life. Emilio took her and shipped her to his son, VP of the Gypsy Brothers MC. She was going to be sold as a slave but Dornan saved her the last minute. She was a prisoner, she had noone but him, so when he treated her nice she fell for him. They had to hide their relationship or they both would die.

Interesting and simple story. Dark novel, it has some twisted scenes and a hostage captor love. Marianna is a very brave and feisty young girl, born and raised in a cartel. She ended up paying for her father's mistakes. Dornan is the son of a famous drug lord, he might looks a lot like him but they have a big difference, Dornan has conscience. He liked her attitude and the fight in her, he fell for her quickly and was trying to save her.

My favourite line:
‘Ever heard the expression, “Don’t bring a knife to a gun fight?”’
