Julien was cruel. He was merciless. He scared the crap out of me. But there was something else, something he never wanted me to see. Inside, he was broken, like me.
My stepbrother was wrong if he thought I'd let him get his hands on me ever again. I had no intention of allowing that to happen, even if it meant I'd have to sleep with the devil to survive.
And I had no doubt Julien was the devil.
My opinion:
Mia was a girl on the run, because her brother wanted revenge. Julien was a hitman, did the job right with no witnesses. One night he saw a girl watching him fucking his latest victim. By his rules she had to die but he seemed fascinated by her, so he chose to get to know her. At first Mia was ashamed of him since she was watching him, but when she met him she was afraid for her life. On the one hand a hitman wanted her dead on the other hand her brother had put a price on her head. Things weren't good for her. That's when she decided to make an offer to Julien, he'd get double the money her stepbrother offered if he would help her hide. He accepted the deal but only if she did what he asked. With no other choice she agreed. Even though he treated her badly most of the time, she started having feelings for him. He did too even though he tried very hard to avoid it. Mia knew the danger that was expecting her back home so she went to claim the money alone, she didn't want Julien to get hurt. That night she realised that she had trusted the wrong people all along. In the end Julien kept his promise but he also gave her something she never had before.
A beautiful dark romance about two tortured people. It is very intense, especially the sex scenes. The scenes from their past are very emotional. Mia was a very smart, loving submissive kinda woman. She had a very bad life, never a moment of happiness. And still after everything, she didn't want to harm anyone and was ready to forgive those who she loved. Julien had a rough past too, he was full of rage, regret and hate. Until he met her and she changed him and his life.
