Lukas (Ashes & Embers #3) by Carian Cole

                                                            Description:
Storm’s younger cousin.
Vandal’s little brother.
You’ve met him in the background.
The sweet one.
The nice one.
The one they can all rely on.
The good one.
He’s a tattoo artist. He plays metal and classical music - on the violin.
He’s got a body built for sin.
He’s 24.
In comes Ivy. She’s a 36 year old single mom who hasn’t dated in 18 years.
All she wanted was a tattoo.
She got a helluva lot more :)
Being good has never been so bad.

                                                      My opinion:
Ivy was divorcing her husband after 18 years of marriage. She was devastated. Her best friend convinced her to do all the things she wanted and couldn't do while being married. One of them was to get a tattoo and she sent her to the right place. From the first time, Lukas and Ivy met they felt the attraction between them. He wanted to explore that but she was reluctant because of her current situation and their age difference. Lukas was very persistent and irresistible so she finally succumbed to him. Everything was going great between them, they were falling in love fast and Lukas got to meet her family. They loved him as much as he loved them. But then some people tried to tear them apart. They nearly succeed that but they knew each other well and their love was so deep they eventually moved on. In the end, all of Lukas dreams came true by having a big happy family with the woman of his dreams.

Such a sweet and romantic story with a sexy side of course. It gets deep and emotional from the very first few chapters. It has a few similarities with the first book since both Storm and Lukas were the ones that went after their ladies and those were the shy and afraid ones. But this one has a few intrigues as well. The erotic scenes are hot as always. The characters are interesting. Lukas was a troubled young man who had been through hell and back. His whole life people and situations hurt him while the only thing he wanted was to feel safe and loved. Ivy was a woman who thought she had everything she needed in her life. She was very insecure about her appearance and scared of what people thought. She always tried to make everyone happy but herself.  To me, it felt like even though Lukas was the young one, Ivy ended up growing up through this relationship. It's a beautiful story and i totally recommend this for those who like a romantic man.

Some of my favourite lines:

1)“Wow,” I say breathlessly, leaning my head against his shoulder.
“Come upstairs with me, and let’s see if we can upgrade that to a holy shit,”

2)“Shh . . . be a kitten tomorrow,” he whispers, his hand sliding slowly up my arm. “Be a cougar tonight.”

3)“Ask me why I live in a church,” he says, as if reading my mind, gathering more of my hair in his hand and gently pulling it all away from my face and neck.
“Why do you live here?” I ask breathlessly.
  “So you can worship every . . . fucking . . . inch . . . of me.”
