Vandal (Ashes & Embers #2) by Carian Cole

She takes my breath away; she is so beautifully damaged.
Yes I had broken her, ravished her life, destroyed her happiness. I brought her to ultimate despair. I was responsible for all the pain and suffering that now brought her to her knees in front of me.

Reckless in her agony.

She is a mirror of my own tortured soul.

But what I took away I can give back.
In ways she cannot even begin to imagine.

She is everything right in all my wrongs.

She loves me. She needs me.

She has no idea I’m the one who wrecked her life.

                                                         My opinion:
Vandal Valentine had a hard life but that slowly changed when he found his family and his precious little girl. He gave up every bad habit to have her by his side. One night changed everything. He lost his little ray of sunshine, the only one who brought happiness in his life. His family were trying to help him as much as they could, Evie seemed to get to him mostly, though. Then one day in the cemetery he saw a woman who was grieving her husband. For some reason, he started stalking her. Vandal felt responsible for her so he decided to help her forget and eventually "fix" her. He made her an offer, one month with him as a mental and physical vacation. At first things between them weren't so good since he kept secrets while he demanded everything from her. Vandal really wanted her in his life so he decided to change his tactics. From day one they trusted each other and slowly they fell in love. The problem with secrets is that you can never keep them hidden forever. And that was what tore them apart for a long time. They might know each other for a little while but their love was so deep that kept them together in the end.

It's such an emotional book with all the death, grief and darkness, i cried so much in the beginning. It starts with tragedy but gradually evolves into a happy story with a beautiful unique ending. Vandal was the most brooding and scary guy of the band, also the most broken one. He didn't let anyone get close to him and he was always ready to sabotage his relationships with everyone. He was from those people who didn't love easily but when he did he loved deep. Tabi was super nice as the rest of the female, she was strong as well and lovable with so much innocent characteristics. The only thing I didn't understand about her is if she was happy with her ex or not... I really liked it, it's so much different that the other books in this series. {What's up with Ash and his wisdom quotes?}
