Review: Blackwyn: The Duganga’s Curse by L.L. Galarza

 Description:
A dark short story set in the World of Blackwyn.

Ezra has everything... except an appetite.

What his distant parents dismiss as a "spoiled brat's tantrum" is, in reality, a death sentence. A hooded creature has claimed Ezra’s hunger, waiting patiently for the boy to waste away until his bones are ready to be picked clean.

His only hope lies in a nine-day rule he cannot break. In a world of shadows where no one hears his cries, only the housekeeper will try to save him—before the monster beneath the bed decides that Ezra is finally ready for dinner.

My opinion:

Blackwyn: The Duganga’s Curse by L.L. Galarza

Ezra wakes up one day to discover that every kind of food smells rotten to him. His parents dismiss it as another one of his whims, but one person believes him and tries to uncover the truth behind the strange curse. Can they solve Duganga’s curse before it consumes him completely?

This dark short story delivers a creepy, unsettling atmosphere filled with horror elements and an eerie sense of dread. Beneath the darkness, though, there’s also an emotional layer that adds warmth and care to the story through one of the characters who truly stands by Ezra.

While the ending wasn’t entirely to my liking, the final scene felt powerful, sentimental, and emotionally rewarding. The story leaves behind a haunting feeling while still offering a touching moment of strength and connection.

Overall, it’s an intriguing read that’s perfect for readers who enjoy dark, eerie, and emotional horror stories.
