Carnal Secrets ( The Phoenix Pack #3) by Suzanne Wright

                                                                Description:
A pack Alpha and his estranged, true mate wrestle with painful secrets, ruthless enemies, and their own irresistible attraction, in the sexy third book of the Phoenix Pack series.

Half-shifter Shaya Critchley may hold a submissive role in her pack, but she’s done taking orders. After her Alpha wolf mate refused to claim her—but committed to interfering in her life—she took off. Now she hides from him, posing as a human in a town full of anti-shifter extremist groups. She thinks he’ll never find her again, and that suits her just fine. But she’s wrong.

Nick Axton can barely control his feelings for Shaya, but he could never claim her—not if he truly cares for her. The degenerative brain condition he keeps secret would ultimately leave her with a burden rather than a mate. But when Shaya runs away, Nick can’t bear the thought of never seeing her again. After tracking her down, he discovers Shaya’s feisty and passionate side in the process…a side he’d never seen before.

Under the menacing gazes of territorial local packs and violent human extremists, Nick vows to finally claim the spirited Shaya…and despite her initial resistance, Shaya just might find his fiery determination to be the ultimate aphrodisiac.

                                                                        My opinion:
Nick had found his true mate but couldn't claim her for many reasons. One she was a submissive wolf and it would be difficult to became the Alpha of their Pack. Two: Nick's wolf had surfased when he was only five years old and that caused him some mentally problems. That's why he was feeling as a possible burdain to his mate. His wolf didn't agree with him. He promised to himself that he would watch her and protect her. One day when he visited her pack to check on her he found out that she had moved out and no one was telling him where she was. Nick wasn't going to give up he'd track her down and finally claim her. He found her told her his intensions but she didn't cave in,Shaya showed him her crazy strike. Now Nick had to earn her trust so he can take her home with him. The local shifters and the human extremists sensed him and confronted him. His life there wouldn't be as easy as he hoped. A few days later his actions warmed her a little and after a test of hers, they decided to tell their secrets to each other. She was pissed at him for keeping something so serious from her, and he was sorry that he made her suffer. The moment that they were happy the extremists made their move. Her old Pack came to see her and stayed to help with the local problem with the humans. The extremists were going to start a war, but the pack was already prepared. They kicked their asses and had a beautiful ceremony for Nick and Shaya. In the end they were happy with their new family and their friends.

This book is as good as the previous two. It doesn't disappoint you. I thought i would hate it because i have to say i didn't like Nick in the book number two but learning his story made me like and admire him. I loved Shaya that girl might be submissive and quiet but she was as nuts as Taryn and Jaime. Unfortunately it doesn't have as many smart ass comments as the other books. A few of my favourite moments in all the books are the arguments between Taryn and Trey's grandma, those are hilarious scenes.

My favourite lines:
1)“Can’t you see I’m trying to pretend you’re not here? When you speak, you kill the illusion.”

2)Beavis? Are you saying I’m dumb?”
  “It’s not your fault.”

3)What do you want?” His eyes went slumberous.
“You. In my bed. Naked. And wet and ready for me.” When she gaped at him, he shrugged innocently. “You asked.”

4)He’d hiked one of her legs over his shoulder, and he was tearing off her panties. Only an idiot would distract him from what he was doing. She was a bitch, but she wasn’t an idiot.

5)“I am not stupid.”
She patted his chest patronizingly. “No, of course not. You just have bad luck in the thinking department.”

6)“There’s no such luck. But I have to admit I don’t much like talking to you.”
“Why? I’m a very nice person.”
“Because it’s like being arrested—everything I do and say can and will be used against me.”

7)“And me,” said Taryn. “And, of course, Greta.” When Trey looked at her oddly, she shrugged. “What? How else am I supposed to get rid of the old crone?”
