My opinion:
The Bratva and the Triad mobs wanted to expand in Chicago, the Italian mobs wanted to unite so they can fight them. That's why Aria's father decided that she was going to marry the oldest son of the New York familia, Luca. She was devastated that she was condemned since the age of fifteen to a loveless marriage with no bright future for her. Two months later was her engagement party where she first met him. Three years later came her wedding day. Her worst nightmare was going to be a reality and she could do nothing about it. She was terrified of the wedding night and her life as the wife of the future Capo dei Capi. Luca surprised her by doing something noble but a few days later he "hurt" her. They both wanted this marriage to work so they put everything behind and started again. They managed to make it work between them but Aria couldn't adapt to her new life, she was too innocent and emotional for all that. Their world was dangerous but Lucas would protect her forever no matter what.
Even though the story is about a forced marriage in the Mafia world, it gets very romantic early. Half the book is filled with erotic scenes. There's a bit of grief, blood scenes and sassy moments from the girls. About the characters: Aria is a good girl who was born in the wrong world. She was innocent and loved her family to death. Later she proved to be a very strong woman. Luca was a dangerous, brooding, handsome man. He appeared to be stone-cold to everyone but he was loving and caring for his darling wife. In general, the book is great with a very romantic/emotional storyline.
